The holiday season is quickly approaching, and no matter how much I think I’ve prepared, somehow it always sneaks up on me. So, I’m getting a jump start on making all my Christmas cards this year. I love beautifully adorned and colorful Christmas cards, so I created today’s card using the Stampin Up Dove of Hope Bundle, as well as a beautiful watercolor technique. Didn’t it turn out gorgeous?! I can’t wait to show you how I created this card, and how to try out the watercolor technique!
Dove of Hope Bundle
The Dove of Hope Bundle by Stampin Up is a gorgeous collection. This bundle includes the Dove of Hope Stamp Set and the Detailed Doves Dies. Bundles make coordinating easy, and this bundle helped achieve the layered and multi-dimension look for today’s project.

Materials
- Dove of Hope Bundle
- Night of Navy Card Base measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- White Cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper measuring 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
- Gold Foil Paper
- Adhesive Sheets
- Stampin Pierce Mat
- Scrap Paper
- Size F Block
- Snowflake Splendor Ribbon
- Ink – Blackberry Bliss and Night of Navy
- Water Spritzer
Ok, enough prep, let’s get started!
Instructions
Whenever I do this technique, I like to start with the watercolor portion first so it has time to dry.
Watercolor Background Technique
First, ink the center portion of the F size block with Night of Navy. Next, ink the upper and lower portions of the block with Blackberry Bliss.
Spray the block with a spritzer approximately 15 times. This allows the ink to blend.
Flip over quickly and press onto the water color paper until you don’t see any white space. Let dry.
Assembling the Dove of Hope Christmas Card
Attach white cardstock to the card base. Use a strong adhesive to attach the watercolor paper.
Die cut the parts for the dove, branch and tag. Assemble. *Hint* – I used adhesive sheets on the back of my die cuts to make this easier!
Attach ribbon and tag. Beautiful!
I love using this watercolor technique. My projects turn out differently each time, making all of my cards one-of-a-kind!
