How many times are you stamping for a card or other paper project, and it doesn’t stamp completely? Sometimes you stamp several times and it seems like there’s something wrong with your stamp. It’s so frustrating, and in the process you waste some of that precious paper that I know you love dearly. Well today I want to share about an amazing tool that many of you are very familiar with, but I realized recently that some of my stampers don’t know about it – the Stampin’ Pierce Mat. Does that make me a failure of a teacher that some of you have missed this? Well maybe, but today I will fix that. Let me tell you about this mat and why EVERY stamper should have one of these handy and inexpensive tools.

What’s a Stampin Pierce Mat
The Stampin Pierce Mat is a gray, 6 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ rectangular, spongey mat. To look at it, it looks rather insignificant and doesn’t seem like it would be a very useful product — but it has definitely saved me a ton of headaches, time, and paper over the years.
Let’s talk about how to use this mat.
How to Use the Stampin Pierce Mat
The Stampin Pierce Mat is used by placing it under your cardstock while you are stamping. Using this mat will automatically create even and uniform stamped images if your table, stamp, or paper has any imperfections. Take a look at the Arrange A Wreath stamp below for comparison. The top image was stamped without the Stampin Pierce Mat and the bottom image was stamped using the mat underneath. There’s such a world of difference when using this tool.
I briefly mentioned why you may want to use this mat, but let’s talk about it more.
Why Use the Stampin Pierce Mat
Do you have a hard time getting your stamped images to stamp evenly and look nice? I get it, because at times I do too. I’ve found there are three main reasons why your stamped images come out unevenly and you can correct all of these problems with the Stampin Pierce Mat.
Large Stamps
One of the times my stamped images stamp unevenly is when I’m using large stamps. It can be hard to evenly apply the pressure that’s needed when stamping with something so large, like this Arrange A Wreath stamp below. Large photopolymer stamps are the main trouble-makers, but large rubber stamps can cause issues too.
Solid Stamps
Another challenge that causes uneven stamping is the use of a solid stamp, especially a solid photopolymer stamp. It can be difficult to get a solid stamp to uniformly apply ink without light areas appearing.
Uneven Work Area
An uneven work area could also be the cause of uneven stamping. Do you work on a plastic table like the one shown below? Or maybe you have another work surface that is uneven or flexes when you stamp.
You can overcome the challenges of an uneven work surface, large stamps, and solid stamps with a Stampin Pierce Mat. This tool will save you a ton of time and energy, and the best part is it’s an inexpensive solution to a large problem — it’s only $5!
