Who out there is still working on Christmas cards? I for one thought I had plenty in my supply…then about a week ago I realized otherwise! I need to keep working on them! In the holiday spirit, I have a sweet (haha, get it?) gingerbread Christmas card to share with you today.
I made this card using the Sweet Home stamp set and Home Sweet Home Thinlits. Isn’t it fun? The little peppermints are from the Candy Cane Lane designer series paper pack. I punched them out with the 1/2″ circle punch and perched them on top of the ‘peppermint sticks’ that I stamped with the Sweet Home stamp set.
Here’s a helpful tip related to the gumball stamp. The stamp is made up of two gumballs with a space in between them. When I first got ready to stamp with it, I almost cut the stamp in half so that I would only be working with one gumball at a time. At the time, it seemed like it would be easier that way. Then I had a light bulb moment – they were spaced apart to leave room to stamp a second time in a different color. It takes a lot of work, but this brain does work sometimes.
I went on to stamp the Sweet Sugarplum gumballs first, two at a time. Then I used Mint Macaron and filled in the gaps. That ‘two gumballs on one stamp’ idea was genius. Pure genius.
