Stampin Up Trucking Along & Creative Corner Ideas

Welcome stampers! I’m so excited for the projects I’m sharing today featuring the Stampin Up Trucking Along bundle. This is one of the most unique sets I’ve seen in a while, and I’m using it today to share some fun ideas for how to change up the corners on your projects. You know when your card needs a little something extra? Changing up the corners of the card itself or the layers can be a great way to make your card seem complete. Let’s get started.

Featured Bundle – Trucking Along

First I want to share the Stampin Up Trucking Along bundle with you. This set is so adorable, and so unique! It includes all the fixings for a truckbed full of holiday spirit, summer fun, or farm fresh flowers. You can pair the stamp set with the punch if desired, or use the punch by itself to create the truck from plain cardstock. You’ll see examples of multiple ways to use it below.

What if you want the truck bed to be full of something besides gifts, a Christmas tree, flowers or a surfboard? You can also use any other stamp set to fill the bed with toys, animals, fall leaves, or anything else that seems appropriate!

Creative Corner Ideas

Next let’s look at my card samples and creative ways to spice up the corners on your projects. Here they are…

Square Corners

The card below is my sample for using basic, square corners. There is nothing at all wrong with square, but if you want to change things up a bit, the ideas below will help.

Use A Corner Punch

A rounded corner punch is a quick and easy way to change up the corners on your project. If you don’t have a corner punch, keep in mind you can trim around a circle or other punch with scissors. I showed how to do this in today’s video.

Angle Punch

I created these corners with my Very Best Trio punch, which creates the nice corners shown here as well as another lovely decorative corner. It also creates holes for tags…it’s definitely a versatile punch.

Trim Corners

If you don’t have an angle punch, you can easily trim off corners with scissors. When I do this, I trim tiny corners because they’re easier to make look symmetrical than large ones. I got adventurous on this card and trimmed off the corners of several layers. It’s a bit easier to make the corners look the same if you only do one layer, like on the piece with the truck stamped. I love how quick and easy this is.

Distress The Corners

I love to distress cards! There are a lot of ways to distress one or more pieces of your project, and they include using ink, scissors, sandpaper, or folding/crumpling. How do you like this one?

Unique Use Of Punches
