Hi friends and welcome! Today we are creating a big set of cards in a really fun way – by creating our own version of a card making kit to help make a lot of cards in a short time! We’re using the Spotlight On Nature stamps, and I think you’re going to love these cards. Let’s get started.
Spotlight On Nature
I chose to use this stamp set because it includes a nice assortment of images and greeting stamps. It creates the most beautiful cards!
Getting Started
Here are the supplies you’ll need to try today’s card making project, and make 16 cards:
- 3 sheets each of 3 colors of cardstock
- 3 colors of ink to coordinate with cardstock
- 3 sheets of white cardstock
- 1/2″ wide strips of white cardstock
- Stamp set including images and narrow greetings
- Embellishments
- Adhesive
- Trimmer, Bone Folder, Basic Tools
Prep Work
Here’s how to prepare supplies and have your ‘kit’ ready to make 16 cards:
- Score and cut 2 sheets of white and 2 sheets of each color of cardstock to prepare 16 card bases
- Stamp colored sheets with one image each, repeatedly in the same color ink, then cut into pieces of various sizes
- Cut one piece of white cardstock into pieces of various sizes and shapes, then stamp images on them
- Stamp greetings onto white strips and cut apart
Next we get to the fun part!
Assembly
After the pieces are prepared, it’s time to assemble! Lay out the card bases and arrange the other pieces on top of them. Feel free to rearrange them until you’re pleased with how they look. Then attach the pieces to the card bases, along with ribbon and embellishments if desired.
Below you can see the cards I created by doing the process described above two different times.
