Today I have a unique way to use die cuts to share with you. Typically, we create die cuts to add a lot of interest to a card project, and often they are the focal point of a card. Today we’re doing the opposite and creating monochromatic backgrounds with die cuts. I’ll be using the Stampin Up Gorgeously Made bundle. Take a look!
Stampin Up Gorgeously Made
Here’s the lovely set I used on today’s cards. I’ve really been wanting to use this die set, and I thought today’s projects would be a fun way to highlight them.
I wanted larger greeting stamps than the set shown above includes, so I pulled out this Layering Leaves set. I love these greetings!
Creating Monochromatic Backgrounds
The idea for creating monochromatic die cut cards is pretty simple. First, make your die cuts in the same color as your card base, then attach them to the card. It creates a nice understated type of interest and you can add a greeting and embellishments over the top. Let’s take a look at the samples.
Berry Burst
Lemon Lime Twist
Peacock Party
Fresh Freesia
Last but not least…Basic White
All white cards are some of my absolute favorites. If you’ve never created one, you need to!
