Stampin Up Floating And Fluttering & A Bright Butterfly Card

This gorgeous Stampin Up Floating & Fluttering Bundle can be found in the catalog and is an absolute must. This bright and beautiful butterfly card was created using this bundle, and I love it so much. I used a brand new tool called blending brushes that will also be released in January. I cannot wait to show you how I made this card using some of these new products.

Stampin Up’s Floating & Fluttering Bundle includes the Floating & Fluttering Stamp Set as well as a coordinating Fluttering Die Set. Both the stamps and dies include a large collage of butterflies and leaves as well as smaller detailed butterflies and leaves. A nice frame is also included that could be used in so many ways.

Materials

Floating & Fluttering Bundle
Basic Black Card Base
Magenta Madness Cardstock measuring 2 1/8″ x 5 1/2″
White Cardstock Measuring 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, which will be trimmed down to measure 2″ wide
Stamparatus
Ink (I used Memento, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, Magenta Madness, Gorgeous Grape)
Blending Brushes
Versamark Ink
Embossing Powder
Heat Tool
Adhesive
Forever Greenery Trim
Extra Butterfly Die Cut
Dimensional
2020-2022 In-Color Enamel Dots
Sentiment Stamp of Your Choice

To create this card, I used one of Stampin Up’s newest tools, the blending brush. If you missed my last blog on the blending brush, you’ll soon discover it’s my newest obsession. Click here to read more about blending brushes.

I also used a heat embossing technique to achieve this look. If you are wanting to emboss in a variety of different colors, but don’t have the embossing powder color you need, click here to learn how to emboss in any color you want.

Instructions

First, reach for your Stamparatus and white cardstock measuring 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Stamp the white cardstock with the Floating & Fluttering butterfly collage stamp with black ink, then clean the stamp and stamp in the exact same place using Versamark ink. Repeat until the cardstock is covered with butterflies.

Sprinkle with clear embossing powder, shake off excess, and use heat tool to emboss. Cut cardstock down to 2″ wide.

Next, with Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, Magenta Madness and Gorgeous Grape inks, use blending brushes to apply and blend color to butterflies and leaves.

Attach Magenta Madness cardstock piece to black card base, then apply butterfly stamped cardstock.

Adorn with a messy bow of Forever Greenery Trim and additional butterfly die cut.

Finish off the card with Magenta Madness embellishment dots and any sentiment stamp you wish to use, embossed with white embossing powder.
