Does it seem silly that I’m already sharing Easter project ideas? The other day, I posted a cute Easter scrapbook page that I made with our adorable Basket Bunch stamp set and thinlits bundle. Today I have a simple but dramatic Easter card made using the Stampin’ Up! Easter Message stamp set. It may seem that Easter is a long way away, but we all know how time flies! It will be here before we know it!
The Easter Message stamp set includes the cross stamp shown, a palm branch, an Easter lily, and two greetings – Happy Easter, and the one I used on today’s card:
He is not here;
He has risen.
-Matthew 28:6
I made this card in just a few short minutes. I stamped the cross with Soft Suede ink, watercolored it using Soft Suede and an aqua painter, then used gold Wink of Stella over top to make it glisten. I used an aqua painter and Sahara Sand ink to give depth to the folds in the cloth draped over the cross.

Thank you! The card base is the standard 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ folded in half. The piece on top with the cross measures 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″. Hope this helps!

Love, love! Your card. How did you get the texture on the edges of the piece on the top with the cross looks like gold?
Thank you so much.

I’m sorry I didn’t reply soon, my comments weren’t showing up for some reason. I went over the top with gold Wink of Stella.

Beautiful card! When you stamped the background with the Timeless texture stamp, what ink did you use and how did you give it that antiqued look? Thank you
I am ordering this Stamp tonight.

I’m really sorry I never replied, for some reason I wasn’t seeing comments…I simply used Sahara Sand ink and went over the top with gold Wink of Stella. I may have stamped off before stamping with Sahara Sand, but I don’t remember for sure.
