Are you ready for a fun and different project today? This was my stamp club project last week. If you aren’t a member of my stamp club, consider joining in person if you’re a local or online if you’re not. The project was a cute little gift bag that included a ‘Sorry You’re Sick, Get Better Quick’ tag, a card and a decorated mini tissue box.
Here is what it looks like unwrapped. If you would like instructions on how to make the tissue box cover, continue reading below.
Here is a close up of the card. The greeting came from the Butterfly Basics stamp set. Isn’t the little bow paper clip cute? Those are new in our 2016 Occasions Catalog.
Here is the tag. This greeting is from the Fabulous Four stamp set. I’ve used this same greeting twice in the last week…it’s popular right now!
And here is the adorable tissue box. This paper is from the Birthday Bouquet designer paper pack. Isn’t it gorgeous?
Read below for instructions on making the tissue box cover. Disclaimer – my all knowingness does not include knowledge of the standard size of pocket tissue packs. Mine measured 4 x 2 1/4 x 1″. If yours are a different size, you may need to adjust the measurements of the box.
Begin with paper that measures 6 x 7 1/2″. Place it on your scoring board and score at 1, 3 1/4, 4 1/4, and 6 1/2″.
Turn the paper 90 degrees and score at 1 and 5″.
Next, snip the score lines as shown.
Die cut or punch a hole out of the center of one of the large rectangular areas. If you’re using printed paper, do this on the area that you want to be the top of the box.
Place strong adhesive like Fast Fuse or Tear and Tape on the 6 smallest flaps (left, middle and right flaps on both the top and bottom). Do this on the same side of the paper that you want to face out on your box.
Next, fold up as shown. I have to give a big thank you to my customer (who is a more experienced stamper than myself), Christa Alspaugh, for figuring out how to make this cover reusable. My original sample could not be opened and would have to be thrown away when it was empty. She folded hers like this so you can open it up and refill it!
If your tissue packets are like mine and open on one end, you may have to cut the plastic cover in the center to allow tissues to be pulled through the hole in the box.
