Warning…today’s project is intense. I had an idea in my mind that I wanted to create a multi-layered card with the beautiful Paisley thinlits dies that Stampin’ Up! released in our Holiday Catalog. By multi-layered, I mean 5, 6, maybe 7 layers of cardstock (which turned out to be 11 if you count the layers on the entire card!). I had no idea what I was getting myself into. If I had known, I might never have started! Regardless of the process it took to get there, I was very happy with the finished result. Here she is – my paisley wedding card.
I had a hard time getting good pictures of the lovely glow of the copper foil paper, but these two pictures turned out fairly well. The setting sun provided just the right glow.
How did I do this? I attempted to take pictures to create a tutorial and it got so complicated, I scrapped that idea. If you’re dying to see a tutorial, let me know. If I get many requests I might be able to find time to put one together.
Back to the question, how did I do this? I started with 4 pieces of copper foil paper measuring 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″. On one, I cut out a couple of the larger paisley dies. Then I laid that piece on top of another piece, and inserted smaller dies onto the lower piece, so they fit inside the cut outs from the upper piece. I then ran the lower piece through to cut out the smaller dies. I repeated this a couple of times, using smaller dies each time. Then, I used the paisley shapes I had cut out and built up layers on top as well. Clear as mud?
I really like the greeting stamps from the Floral Phrases stamp set. The stamps come in a bundle with the gorgeous Floral Thinlits die set, that I included the link for below. I didn’t use the dies on this card, but they are lovely.

Thank you! I wish I was able to explain it better. Maybe I’ll make another one sometime and share pictures.
