If you’ve been following my blog, you’re probably noticing that I’ve been participating in a number of stamping challenges lately. I’m really starting to enjoy these challenges and today’s was my favorite so far!
Stampin’ Up! announced a Punch It Up punch art challenge a few weeks ago and encouraged demonstrators to participate. The challenge was to create a project using at least two of the following punches: fun flower, pansy, hearts border and sweetheart.
My idea for this card started with using the fun flower punch to make a sun. I knew I wanted to create some sort of scene using the sun, but I wasn’t sure what else to include. I did a little idea searching, and pieced together the rest of the card using ideas that I found.
I used the Fun Flower punch along with the 3/4″ circle punch to create the sun. The butterfly was made using the Pansy punch.
I embossed the centers of the sunflowers using the decorative dots embossing folder. The flower petals came from the Hearts Border punch and the leaves were from the Pansy punch.
The greeting is from the new Watercolor Wings stamp set. I punched it using our also new and fabulous Triple Banner punch. I added some messy Linen Thread because I love it.
And here’s the finished project. I think I might frame it and hang it on my wall!
