Happy Memorial Day! I hope you are having a nice weekend and that you’re able to spend today relaxing and enjoying some spring weather. I had a fun surprise in my mailbox on Thursday, and today I’m going to share it with you. Let’s take a look at my 2020 Paper Pumpkin alternatives and sample cards!
As you may know, Paper Pumpkin is a craft kit in the mail. For just over $20, you receive the stamps, ink, and paper supplies for an adorable project. There’s no cutting, no mess, and no large collection of ‘stuff’ that you have to figure out where to store afterwards. Just a quick, simple craft with no headaches!
This month’s kit is titled ‘A Kit In Color,’ because it features our new Stampin’ Up! 2020-2022 In Colors! The new colors being added to our collection next week, which are also featured in this kit, include Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight, Bumblebee, and Just Jade. They’re so fun and bright. Just gorgeous!
The May Paper Pumpkin kit includes the materials to make 12 cute cards. They feature bright colors, bold patterns, and rainbows! In the photo below you can see the instruction sheet for these projects as well as some of the cards I created using the kit.
While many kit subscribers assemble their kits as shown, many like to change up their projects. For this reason I like to share alternative project ideas for how to use your Paper Pumpkin kit. Below I have a collection of alternative card projects!
To make these cards, I trimmed down a few of the pre-cut pieces to use them on several cards. I also used a few colors of ink from my collection to stamp the rainbows on the card at the very top. One of the awesome things about these kits is the extra die cuts and embellishments that come included. Look at all that twine that I used on these cards, and I still had more leftover!
Below you can see another Paper Pumpkin alternative idea – a wall hanging or sign that would be perfect to brighten up your work space or a child’s bedroom. To make it, I used the cardboard piece that comes in the kit and attached a piece of designer paper from my collection over top. Next I added rainbows, clouds, and embellishments from the kit. I punched two holes at the top and tied some twine through to make a hanger for it.
I made a video to share how to assemble this month’s sample projects and also to show my alternative ideas. Take a look!
