It’s Day 3 of my 12 Days of DIY Gift Ideas!! Today’s lip balm tiny treat bag is super cute, and it would also be a great way to package other items like perfume, small candies, mini pens, and more. Let’s take a look at it!
Lip Balm Tiny Treat Bag Video Tutorial
The easiest way to make one of these bags is to follow along with the tutorial I’ve created here, or you can keep reading for more instructions.
Cutting & Scoring Instructions
To make one of these mini bags, you’ll need a piece of paper that measures 4″ x 6″. Lay it with a 6″ side at the top, and score at 3/4″. Then turn it 90 degrees clockwise, so the score line is near the top. Score at 1 3/4″ and 3 1/2″. Next, make partial score marks that only go down to the horizontal score line at 7/8″ and 2 5/8″. Trim on the short scores above the horizontal score lines. Fold together, then punch the top using the Fancy Tag Topper punch.
I created these bags using Gingerbread & Peppermint designer paper, which is so darn adorable. You could decorate them for many other occasions as well, and make them for birthdays, party favors, wedding favors, or other holidays.
A Larger Self-Closing Bag
For the larger bag that fits a medium-sized bottle of hand lotion, use a piece of paper measuring 7 1/2″ x 8″. With the 8″ side at the top, score at 1 3/4″. Turn it 90 degrees and score at 3 1/2″ and 7″. Then make partial score lines at 1 3/4″ and 5 1/4″. Assemble the same way as with the small bag.
