Have you ever debated whether to send photo cards OR handmade Christmas cards? I have good news – you don’t have to choose! Take a look at today’s ideas, because I’ll be sharing several handmade photo Christmas cards you can create that combine your photos with your cards!

Handmade Photo Christmas Cards
Here are six ways you can combine handmade cards with your photos, and send them out this holiday season. For details on how to create them, keep scrolling to the video linked at the bottom!
1. Insert A Photo
This is what I typically do for our Christmas cards. Just insert a 4×6 photo, which you’ve trimmed down to 4×5 1/2, inside your lovely handmade cards. This snowflake card used a really neat technique you can see in this tutorial.

2. Keep It Simple
If you want to keep it easy, just add a photo to the front of your card. If you want to stamp directly onto the photo, you’ll need to use StazOn ink or white craft ink and I highly recommend using the Stamparatus so your greetings don’t end up blurry.

3. Peek Through
For this card, I ran my card base through my Cut & Emboss machine with a deckled rectangle die. It cut out the opening and I attached the photo to the inside.

4. Slide In
Would you like the recipient to be able to remove the photo from your card? This fun idea allows it to slide out.

5. Easel Fun Fold
Isn’t this lovely! It’s a verson of an easel card which allows the recipient to display your family photo all year long.

Dimensions for this card:
Base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ cardstock scored on the long side at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″
Photo: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
White: 2 – 4″ x 5 1/4″
Designer paper: 2″ x 5 1/4″
Strip: 1/2″ x 5 1/4″
6. Photo Shaker Card
Isn’t this fun? It combines your family photo with a shaker card. Watch along with the video below to see how to create one of these!
