Once again, I’m sharing a card using a watercolor background. I’m still using up all the fantastic watercolor samples I made when I was preparing for this post. Here and here are two of my other recent watercolor cards. Today’s project is a unique camouflage watercolor card.
I’m really loving the millions of possibilities you have with watercolors. Which technique to use? Which colors to blend? I could play around for days! I thought this one really turned out interesting, with the appearance of camouflage.
I created the watercolor background by coloring directly onto watercolor paper using Stampin’ Write markers. The colors I used were Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip. After coloring patches of color over the entire surface, I used a Stampin’ Spritzer to add water until the color had blended enough for my liking. It’s a very simple technique!
The dog stamp is from a great new set called The Wilderness Awaits. I cut it out using the Deco Labels framelits.
What other special effects do you think you can create using a watercolor technique? Comment and let me know!
