There is something wrong with me. It’s ok, you can laugh. Whatever is wrong with me just isn’t giving in. I’ve been a delinquent, not posting much for about the last month, which coincidentally (or not) is the same amount of time this strange illness has had a hold on me. I made my second trip to the doctor yesterday. Keep in mind I don’t go to the doctor unless I feel like I’m dying and have already tried all my home remedies with no success. What did she say? “Wow, you’re throat is red considering this has been going on for a month.” Her best guess is that it might just be allergies. Just allergies? Seriously? I’m hoping she’s right. I’m taking an allergy pill now and hopefully I’ll start feeling better ASAP. Anyway, for now I’m back and I have a card idea to share with you. I made these cards using the block stamping technique – a super simple way to spice up your stamping projects.
Here’s how the block stamping technique works. Get a clear block of any size. For this card, I used the Stampin’ Up! E Block. Choose three complementary ink colors. Ink 1/3 of the block with the lightest color (Pool Party on my card shown below). Flip the block around and ink the other 2/3 with the middle shade of ink (Wisteria Wonder). Then ink the bottom portion with your darkest color (Elegant Eggplant).
Next, place your cardstock on top of a Stampin’ Pierce mat. This is very important! You need the cushion it will provide. Then ‘stamp’ the inked block onto your cardstock. Press firmly to make sure it fully inks! That’s it!
I tried out two different color combinations – Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, and Elegant Eggplant shown above, and So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach, and Calypso Coral shown below. What colors would you choose?
I can’t decide which one I like better. Which is your favorite?

[…] As you may remember from my original post, Emma and I are taking it in turns to choose a project each week, to inspire our CASE Challenges. Next week is my choice, and I’ve been inspired by these gorgeous cards made by U.S. Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Anna Smith. You can see Anna’s full blog post here. […]
