I’m getting ready to leave tomorrow for my Rising Star trip to the Stampin’ Up! home office this week! I’m so excited to meet the other Rising Stars, meet all the Stampin’ Up! folks, see the facilities, do training and have some fun! I’ll be posting pictures and info from my trip in the coming days, so come back and visit!
We have the choice to participate in a card swap with the training team while we’re gone, and of course I’m going to participate! Who wouldn’t want to swap cards, I mean, come on! It was tough deciding which of my cards laying around my workshop to use for the swap. I almost chose this Magical Night Christmas Card but instead I decided on today’s Blackberry Bliss Silent Night card. It’s totally prettier in person, but I think you can get the general idea from the pictures. I LOVE purple and I LOVE sparkles. Therefore, I LOVE this card!
The card was really easy to make. First, I used Memento Black ink and the tree stamp from the Wonderland stamp set to stamp the trees. After inking the stamp, I stamped 3-4 times before inking it again. That gave the faded effect of some of the trees. Next I sponged Blackberry Bliss ink from the outer edges inward using a small circular motion. I did this over and over again until the outer edges of the card were fairly dark in color (much darker than you would think looking at these pictures). Next I embossed the greeting, also from the Wonderland stamp set, using white embossing powder.
Here is where the fun starts! I took my Versamark ink pad and placed it directly on top of the cardstock. I did this a few times until the entire piece was covered in ink. I sprinkled Heat & Stick powder over it and shook off the extra. I heated that with my heat tool until the powder melted and was sticky. Then I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter over the top, shook off the extra and heated it one more time. Voila!
I will have a video coming on how to make this card, so when it’s ready I will add it to this post.
Here are the 15 cards I needed for the swap. I can’t wait to see what neat cards I receive from the Stampin’ Up! training team members and other Rising Stars! Hopefully I’ll be able to share them in a few days!
