How many of you out there enjoy playing games? Board games? Card games? What about BINGO? Tonight, I’m hosting my first BINGO night of the year. Each time we have a new catalog released, I hold a BINGO night to play BINGO (obviously), give out prizes, and do some stamping. One of the cards we’re making this evening is this cute birthday card made with our new Balloon Adventures stamp set.
One of my favorite things about Stampin’ Up! is the coordination we have between products, such as papers, stamps, and dies that all coordinate. The Balloon Bouquet punch has been in our product line for quite some time now, but now we have a new stamp set that coordinates with it – Balloon Adventures! In addition to coordinating with the Balloon Bouquet punch, I was also able to use the ‘Party On’ stamp with our Duet Banner punch. Did I saw that I love things that coordinate?! It makes it so much easier to make cute projects!
To create the faded turquoise color in the background, I used a sponge brayer. This is one of my tools that gets lost sometimes and I forget to use it. It’s been a while since I had used it on a project, so I decided it was time to drag it out of the dungeon! I inked it up with Tempting Turquoise, then began at the lower edge of the card rolling it back and forth, while slowly moving towards the top of the card. I did this a few times until I had the color I wanted. One thing I love about the sponge brayers compared to the traditional brayer we used to offer, is the sponge brayers are more forgiving. Less ink is applied at one time, which means it’s a lot less likely you’ll mess up a project all at once! On that note, whenever you think you’ve messed something up, there’s always a way to fix it. Always. That sounds like a good post topic for another day – how to fix your mistakes.
