Do you ever have a moment when you realize your first impression of something (or someone) is completely off? Or do you ever experience seeing a stamp set or other paper craft product that you completely dislike, but when you start seeing projects made with it you change your mind? I must admit some of the products I’m using today fit into that category. I first saw The Right Triangle stamp set and coordinating Stitched Triangles Dies in our Annual Catalog and was completely unimpressed. It took me a while to realize that these products would be perfect for quilt cards, and the idea of using them started to grow on me. Then I saw the Stampin Up Tree Angle stamp set in our Holiday Mini Catalog and be still my heart, I loved it. I ordered it, and today I’m sharing a project using this set. Join in!
Stamp Set
The Tree Angle stamp set is full of cute, triangle trees! A few of the stamps can be overlaid, so you can stamp the outline of the tree and then fill it in, making for more possibilities with how to use the set. It also includes nice greetings in pretty fonts.
Stitched Triangles Dies
This die set has three different shapes of triangles, and I had to rack my brain to remember the names of the triangle shapes. We have the right triangle (one corner is at a 90 degree angle), equilateral (all 3 sides are the same length), and isosceles (2 sides of the same length). I’m definitely laughing at myself as I write this. You didn’t expect a geometry lesson today, did you? Mr. Carr, my high school geometry teacher, would be proud.
Now if you’re impressed that I remembered the names of the types of triangles, I have to admit that I looked them up because I couldn’t remember the name of the equilateral triangle!
So…the right, equilateral, and isosceles triangles are each included in the die set and each shape is included in multiple sizes. These coordinate with the tree stamps and give you many more creative options as well. Two other uses are to use them with greetings from other stamp sets and to cut out designer papers with them.
Coordination
The coordination doesn’t stop with the Tree Angle stamp set and Stitched Triangles Dies. We need to mention The Right Triangle stamp set, which is shown below! This set debuted in this year’s Annual Catalog, and as mentioned, I didn’t like it at first. Then I started thinking of uses for it such as making quilt cards, and I began to change my mind. I love that it coordinates with the other products. I have now added it to my collection, and soon I hope to share a quilt card made with this set!
Christmas Card Idea
Now let’s talk about today’s project. I embossed the background of this card using the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. I stamped the trees using our Stamparatus and a fun technique to make multiples of stamped die cuts quickly. Thats pretty much it! I’ll share exactly how to make this project in my video tutorial below.

Anna – I was howling with laughter over the names of those triangles!! WHY did we have to learn that – WHY! I was a very good student until it came to Geometry because I could not list 20 steps on how I came to the correct answer on a math question – the Professor did not like the answer “common sense”! I felt exactly the same way about Statistics when I was getting my Masters – WHY? I am here to say that I have reached my 60’s and have never used either of those knowledge bases!!
I love the card and you have done a beautiful job, as usual!
I hope your Stamp Camp is a blast and I wish I could be there!!!

Hi Lou! I’m howling with laughter reading your comments!! Too funny! I loved math but I will admit I don’t use much of what I was forced to learn. I actually do use a bit of geometry occasionally, as odd as that may sound! Thank you for your well wishes! I hope to get more virtual classes posted soon and would love for you to attend if youre able 🙂
