Hi everyone! Are you ready for Thanksgiving in just a few weeks? Some of my favorite projects to make, and some of my most searched on my website, are Thanksgiving treats. Whether they’re boxes, table toppers, place cards, or other Thanksgiving treats, they are fun to make and add so much to your holiday table. In the spirit of thankfulness, fun treats, and lovely table decorations, I’m going to spend the rest of this week sharing project ideas for these things. I’m starting today with some adorable DIY turkey treats made from our mini pizza boxes. Take a look!
I just love, love, love turkey treat boxes. In past years I have shared this and this turkey treat box, and I wanted to make another one this year. I decided to use our mini pizza boxes as a base, because first, they’re adorable, and second, they can hold a wide variety of treats. They could hold cookies, small candy bars, ornaments, assorted candies, or many other goodies.
‘Punch art’ refers to making cute things out of punch pieces, so this turkey is a perfect example of punch art. Here is the ‘recipe:’
- Head – 1 1/2″ Circle Punch
- Body – Pretty Label Punch
- Feathers – Sprig Punch
- Beak and Wobble – Detailed Trio Punch
- Give Thanks Circle – 1″ Circle Punch
- Gold Glimmer Scallop Circle – 1 3/8″ Scallop Circle
I attached the head to the body first, then flipped it over with the backside up. I put adhesive across the back and attached the feathers. Then I flipped them back over and finished their faces.
You could turn these into place cards by using the small circle for names instead of stamping a greeting. Then you can assign your guest seats! Make sure they get along with their neighbors 🙂
Gobble gobble… thanks for visiting to see these DIY turkey treats! Check back in the next few days for more fun Thanksgiving treat and decoration ideas!
