I had planned to highlight retiring products all this month until they are gone, but I’m like a kid at Christmas! I just can’t play with those old toys right now because I’m so excited about the new ones!
My wonderful mother has a birthday coming up, so I looked through my sampling of sneak peek items for something birthday related. You know what I found? This could possibly be my favorite stamp set in the entire new catalog. I mean, there are a lot of great ones. A lot that I can’t wait to get my hands one. And I am still studying the catalog, so maybe I will change my mind and find some I love more, but this stamp set is amazing. Pair it with the tree builder punch (yes I said tree builder, and yes my card has a cupcake on it) and I’m just downright giddy!
This was a grand opportunity to try out the new In Colors for 2015-2017. I can already tell my favorites are going to be Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder. Don’t you just love these new colors?
So let’s talk about this amazing stamp set – Sprinkles of Life. First of all, it’s our new Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set, so for every one purchased, $3 will be donated to the cause. Second, look at everything that comes in it!
Now take a minute and look again, because I bet you missed something. There is so much in it! It has trees, clouds, cupcakes, ice cream cones, flowers, sprinkles/confetti, rain drops, an apple, a bird and greetings for birthdays, thank you, just because and thinking of you.
For this card, I created the background using the I Think You’re Great stamp set. I made the cupcake bottom by stamping with Tip Top Taupe, then stamping again with Versamark and embossing it with clear embossing powder. The top of the cupcake was stamped with Watermelon Wonder, sprinkles added with Mint Macaron, then stamped again with Versamark and embossed with Iridescent Ice powder. Then I punched it out with that fantastic tree builder punch!
The lace is another one of our new products. It didn’t stand out quite as much as I wanted it to originally, so I placed a strip of white cardstock behind it. That did the trick.
Tomorrow I promise to be back on track with retiring products! I mean, you’ll have all year to buy the soon-to-be-released products right?? You have to make sure you get that retiring stuff before it’s gone because it won’t be returning!
