Earlier this week, I was creating some place cards for a weekend retreat I’m hosting starting today. I was using the baby wipe ink pad technique (see yesterday’s post for details) to ink the large Frosted Medallions stamp in various colors. As I was stamping, I had the thought that the medallion would make amazing turkey feathers, so I stamped an extra one onto white cardstock and set it aside to make a turkey when I had the chance. The chance arrived and here is what I created. Gobble gobble!
Every once in a while I make a card that I just want to stare at. This is one of them! I LOVE the multicolored turkey feathers, plus all of the gold accents. Looking at it makes me happy. It’s the simple things in life, right?
The Crumb Cake designer paper in the background came from our Fancy Frost paper pack. It comes as plain white embossed paper in various designs. I love it because it can be sponged with any color, which in this case was Crumb Cake.
In case you’re curious, I made the turkey’s body with the owl punch and just cut off the ears. I also punched out the eyes, beak and wattle with the same punch.
If you think this big medallion stamp is wonderful, make sure to check out this watercolored card and this snowflake card I also made with it.
I hope you loved this turkey card as much as I do! Turkey day is almost here. I’m looking forward to the yummy spread of food!
