To make this card, I started with a folded card base, and made a cut 1 1/4″ from each side, just until I reached the fold. The center flap needs to be scored or folded approximately in the center. Here is a picture of what the base should look like.
I sealed the side flaps to the back of the card. To get the center flap to stay up for displaying the card, just attach a strip of cardstock using Stampin’ Dimensionals, so that it pops up a little. Secure the folded flap behind the strip.
My next card features the Butterfly Basics stamp set that I’m featuring as my stamp set of the month. I love love love the fern in this set. I love eclectic sets like this because you can make so many different types of cards using just this stamp set. Sometimes I drag out 12 stamp sets to create one card. With this set, you don’t have to do that.
For my third project, I chose this tree card that I made using the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set. I participated in my first card making challenge recently, and this was the result! The challenge was to find a piece of artwork from greatbigcanvas.com and to use it as my inspiration for a card. Here was my inspiration.
To make this card I began by stamping the tree onto watercolor paper with Stazon ink. Next I stamped the flowers/snowflakes (depending on your imagination) with Versamark and embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I used our Stampin’ Write markers to add the colors. When I was done coloring, I took a large solid stamp, spritzed it with water, and stamped over top of my ‘artwork.’ I repeated this until I had stamped the entire area. That’s pretty much it- just add some baker’s twine and slap it onto a card base!
So that’s it! My first blog hop post! If I’m lucky maybe the Wacky Watercooler ladies will let me come back next month! Thanks for visiting! Now hippity hop on over to Heidi’s blog where the March Madness blog hop will continue!
