If you haven’t heard, Stampin’ Up! is getting ready to say goodbye to a lot of fantastic products in our current holiday catalog. For details on what is retiring and when, click here. Over the next month I’ll be highlighting some of my favorite stamp sets that are going away. Today’s favorite that will be leaving us is Lighthearted Leaves. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp set. A quick search on my site gave these results of some of the projects I have made with this stamp set. Here are the beautiful stamps that come in the set.
I can’t let this stamp set go without an appropriate goodbye, so here is today’s farewell project. Don’t be surprised if you see another farewell between now and the end of December, but if I don’t get around to making another one, at least we have said goodbye today.
I made this card for two stamping challenges, the Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches. Here are the colors and the sketch I used for inspiration.
To make the leaf, I stamped it with Versamark ink, embossed it with white embossing powder and then colored in the open spaces. I used the Pear Pizzazz, Cherry Cobbler and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Markers to color it. Then I cut it out with the Leaflets framelits and added an Antique Brad and some silver baker’s twine.
The greeting is subtle, but I love the stamp set it came out of. It’s from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. The name is right, the greetings are teeny tiny, but I love them. One reason is because they are sized perfectly for the Word Window punch. The other reason is because this set has 24 greetings, so pretty much every occasion is covered. Anytime I can’t find the greeting I need I always head straight to this set and it has never let me down!
So there you have it. Goodbye Lighthearted Leaves! I love you! I’m going to miss this set so much that I might need to send this sympathy card to myself!
Don’t forget that Stampin’ Up! has announced Online Extravaganza for next week, and I’m going to have some awesome deals as well. Make sure to sign up for my email list so you get all the details! If you’re planning to place an order, use hostess code NA6AZJPU and I will send you a free gift! Even better, sign up for stamp club and you will get free projects and free stamps!
