I hope you know (and remember) the reason for the season that is upon us. In the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it can be easy to lose sight of the reason. For those of you who like to send spiritual cards and remind people of the reason for the season, the All Ye Faithful stamp set is a fantastic choice. The images are beautiful. They are so peaceful and calm. I’m doing a class this week using this stamp set, and here are the four cards we will be making.
Here is the first card I created. When I first saw these images, my natural instinct was to color them in. I wanted to use deep, rich colors from the Regals and Neutrals collections. I used aqua painters to create the soft, subtle, painted look. Using markers would have been much too bright and bold for the look I wanted to create.
After making the card above, I challenged myself to make some that did not require coloring the images. I took a card created by Katie Jacobs and changed it some to come up with this. I stamped the dots around the edges with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, and then I sponged the edges as well. I love all things rustic, including this card! It turned out to be my favorite of the four cards!
I got my idea for the next card from Jennifer Timko. I love the embossed effect, but then again I always love embossing. LOVE embossing.
For this card, I used the sunburst stamp from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set to create the glow from the star. It is amazing how many uses I find for this stamp! I made the white stars with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. Doesn’t the wooden Snowflake element make a beautiful star?
