Use Your Paper Stash Video
Watch along here as I share about these cards and techniques. Stick around until the end, when I’m sharing about joining in with reading the Bible with me in 2025! I’m really enjoying the Bible Recap to guide me and explain things I would never understand on my own!
Creative Ways To Use Patterned Papers
Ok, let’s take a look at the ideas I’ve come up with for using your pretty papers!
1. Use Markers To Add Details
For this technique, grab a pen or marker, and add your own creative flair to the papers! On this card, I added the stitching lines around the edges of the oranges and lemons. You can add other designs, color in white space to personalize the color palette, or just get creative with it!
2. Do Some Fussy Cutting
Grab some paper snips and start cutting! I find this therapeutic. This is such an easy way to create gorgeous cards.
3. Create a Fun Edge
For this card, I started by trimming my patterned paper to the size and shape I wanted. Then I attached it to the Daffodil Delight cardstock, and trimmed around the wavy edge again. Lastly I placed it on the Granny Apple Green card base and trimmed one last time.
4. Paper Strips Or Scraps!
I know you love paper scrap card ideas. This one is really easy. Just cut some strips, or use any size or shape of scraps and place them in an organized or haphazard way to create your background.
5. Add Glossy Accents
I did this with our Fine Tip Glue Pen, which is perfect for adhering detailed die cuts and also for adding glossy accents, because it dries clear and hard!
6. Emboss It
I don’t often think to emboss over designer papers, but when I do, I always love the results! The Dotted Circles embossing folder is one of my favorites right now.
7. Cut It Out & Pop It Up
You can cut out a section of the paper using multiple techniques. Here I used a die from the Countryside Inn die set, but you can use a punch, scissors, or even a craft knife to get a more detailed cut. Attach the outer piece directly to the card and pop up the piece you cut.
8. Add Faces
This is so fun! I used the Bee My Valentine stamp set to add faces to these apples! Once you have a stamp set with faces in it, you can add the faces to flowers, fruits, balloons, and all kinds of patterned papers.
