I love when I can use household items for purposes in my craft space. I had the idea to use wax paper and crumple it up to add the look of texture to my projects. I had fun playing around with it, and I’m excited to share this with you today, as well as the Stampin’ Up! Hooray For Surprises stamp set. Let’s take a look.
Wax Paper Technique Video Tutorial
Watch along here to see how I did this fun and easy technique. Stick around for the end because I want to invite you to read the entire Bible with me in 2025!
Stampin Up Hooray For Surprises Bundle
Here you can see this cute bundle that is designed to make for fun surprises. If you look closely at the die set, including the heart, word bubbles, and long strip die, you can see that they cut most of the area, but they leave small pieces intact so the entire piece will stay attached to a card. The idea is to stamp or attach a fun surprise underneath, then put these pieces over top. You can use the stamps that say ‘Pull’ or ‘Open Here’ with these, then when the recipient pulls off the top piece, they will be surprised by the fun element underneath.
Wax Paper Texture Technique
To try the technique that I’m sharing today, all you’ll need to do is tear a piece of wax paper that measures about 12“ x 12“, crumple it up, and use this to apply ink to a card. It creates the fun look of texture, which is something I really enjoy adding to my card projects. Try it on different colors of cardstock and with different colors of ink. The sky is the limit.
Another hooray for surprises card
I wanted to share another card made with this cute bundle. See the little tab that says ‘pull?’ That’s where you can pull to reveal a fun surprise underneath! Watch along with the video to see how this works.
That’s what I have for today!

Good Morning from Northern Nevada!
Anna, I have been reading the Bible slowly and at my own pace. But lot’s going on in my family and I know help and answers are there.
You’ve encouraged me to accomplish the whole Bible with your suggestion.
You’re truly and inspiration in your faith and courage.
God Bless You,
Patty
