Welcome stampers! Thanks for visiting today as I share a fun (and simple) technique for creating lovely card backgrounds using blending brushes. The cards feature the beautiful new Stampin Up Lazy Days bundle. Let’s take a look!
Stampin Up Lazy Days Bundle
Here’s the sweet bundle I decided to use to finish these cards. It seems like a nice reminder of a slower paced life and days gone by.
Creating Quick & Simple Backgrounds
I created the backgrounds for these cards using my Small Blending Brushes. I’ve shared about my regular, larger blending brushes many times, but today I wanted to focus on using these little guys in a nice, simple way.
I created these backgrounds by laying down strips of color with the blending brushes. I wanted to keep the colors close together, and to do that I needed to use the small brushes. Larger brushes wouldn’t allow me to get the color quite as close together as the larger ones.
For this sample I used the ink colors Pecan Pie, Crumb Cake, and Smoky Slate. Then I stamped the greeting, rocking chair, and table with Pecan Pie.
On this card I used Berry Burst, Bubble Bath and Petal Pink, then stamped the greeting and added the die cuts.
For this beauty I used Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Balmy Blue, and Blueberry Bushel. Isn’t this just beautiful?
