Struggle With Measuring?! Try These Tricks Video
Making Cards Without Measurements
Here are three ideas for making cards without using measurements. I explain each one in detail and show how to use it in the video, so watch along if you’re not sure what I’m trying to explain!
1. Just Cut
Just start cutting! When using designer papers, just start cutting your paper into various shapes and sizes. Once you have a collection, lay them out on card bases and arrange them however you like. I do this often. No measurements needed!
2. Use A Post It Or Sticky Tab
If you’ve cut a particular piece, let’s say around a stamped image, use a post-it note or sticky tab to mark the measurement on your trimmer. You can use this guide to cut more without having to focus on actual measurements.
3. Creating a Bigger Or Smaller Mat
This involves using the post it above as a guide to create a piece slightly larger or smaller than the first piece. Need it to be bigger? Place your paper slightly to the left of the mark before cutting.
Need it to be smaller? Place it slightly to the right of the mark.
