For Day 7 of my 12 Days of DIY Gift Ideas, I’m sharing a matching card and ornament set! Sometimes you want just a little something as a gift, and today’s unique card along with the coordinating ornament can be the perfect idea. Let’s talk about them!
Matching Card & Ornament Video Tutorial
For all the details on making these projects, watch along with the video I created here.
First I’ll share the products I used on these cards, and then I’ll share the cutting dimensions you’ll need to make one.
Featured Products
I used some of my all-time favorite stamp and punch combos on these cards. They include:
Penguin Place
Perfectly Plaid
and Snowman Season.
I selected these three because I needed punches that are symmetrical or close to symmetrical on the left and right sides, or mirror images when split down the center, to make the technique work correctly.
Would you like to make one of these cards yourself? Here’s the list of materials you’ll need.
Easel Card Cutting List
To make the easel card, you’ll need the following pieces:
5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ card base
2 – 4″ x 1″ designer paper
2 3/4″ x 4″ designer paper
2 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ cardstock
2 1/4″ circle
2 1/4″ x 2 3/4″ white for inside
1/2″ x 2 1/2″ white for greeting
1/2″ x 3″ cardstock matching card base
3 stamped and punched penguins, trees, or snowmen
Prepare the card base by first scoring in the center at 4 1/4″. Next, lay the cardstock vertically on your trimmer at 1 1/4″ and cut from the top to the center score line. Flip the paper over and repeat this on the other side. Next lay the cardstock horizontally at the 2 1/8″ mark, and score between the two cut lines.
Assemble the card as shown in my video linked above.
