Welcome back to another holiday catalog sneak peek today! If you’ve been following along, you know that all week long, I am featuring projects made with products from our upcoming Holiday Catalog which will be released in just a few short weeks. Today’s project is somewhat nontraditional for me. I got my inspiration for today’s card from the Merry Little Christmas designer paper pack, and I paired it with the Merry Little Labels stamp set. The designer paper pack is filled with green, black, and white papers. Black may not be a color I often think about for Christmas cards, but I have to admit I love how this turned out.
Since I was using designer paper with black in the prints, I decided to go with a black card base. I cut a few pieces of the designer paper and laid them on the card in a way that I liked. I decided that the card needed a doily next, but I knew that a white doily just wouldn’t cut it, so I decided to cover it with black ink. That was a good start, but then I decided one doily wasn’t enough, so I added a silver one as well as some silver thread.
The card greeting is from the Merry Little Labels stamps set, and it coordinates with our new Everyday Label punch. I don’t know about you, but I am a huge huge fan of stamp sets and coordinating punches that are quick and easy to use for greetings. The Everyday Label punch coordinates with several new stamp sets which will make it really quick and easy to add a nice greeting on to a card.
I wanted a few little sparkles on top of the snowflakes, but I didn’t want regular rhinestones. I decided to color them with a Sharpie marker to turn them black. The color wasn’t perfect or as black as I had hopes, but I have good news for anyone wanting black rhinestones for your crafting endeavors…we have some amazing black rhinestones coming in this year’s Holiday Catalog! They will be especially wonderful for Halloween projects.
I hope you’re getting excited about these holiday products because I sure am. I’ll have more sneak peeks for the next few days. You are not going to want to miss them, so make sure to subscribe to my blog to get updates!
