Happy Saturday! What plans do you have for the weekend? We are deep into the harvest season, so unless it rains, we will be working in the field. This is a busy, but wonderful time of year for our family, and I really enjoy it. If you’ve been folowing along with my blog, you know that I have spent the last week sharing Halloween treat ideas. I had a lot of fun with it, but I’m ready for something new! Today I’m sharing a few clean and simple Christmas card ideas highlighting one of our new die sets in the 2019 Holiday Catalog. Take a look!
The die set used on these cards is the Stampin Up Christmas Layers die set. It includes all of the detailed shapes used on these cards, including the snowflakes, flower/medallions, and branches. I think these are the most beautiful shapes. I’ve been talking lately about products that make it easy to create beautiful projects, and the Christmas Layers dies should be added to the list!
I wanted to make clean and simple Christmas card ideas, so I chose a white background and embossed them using three different embossing folders – woodland, pinewood planks, and bricks and mortar.
I wanted the focus of the cards to be the die cuts, so I didn’t add any other decoration besides the greeting and a coordinating mat behind it.
In the last few years I have made two or three all-white Christmas cards, and they have turned out to be some of my all-time favorites. I decided to keep one of today’s cards white-on-white card with just a touch of Sahara Sand added in. This one is by far my personal favorite of the three.
Would you like to see a video of me making these, as well as a really handy tip for how to glue down intricate die cuts like those on these cards? Please join my Facebook group and you can see a video I posted last weekend!
